Hi all...
Looking at starting with samplers but not much cash to spend...
Wanting to use my own samples for rhythm, drums and synth pad type stuff as a new foundation for my song writing.
Extra points if it's easily portable... so I can use it at my desk at the office on breaks.
Just bought a Novation Launchkey Mini mk3 to use with my ipad gen4 (real old) which is a good start... but wanting to supplement that.

What is a good starting point?
Software or hardware options?
could take my laptop but better if I don't.

I'm thinking about the Korg Volca Sample v2... any thoughts?

Also looked at the 1010music blackbox but its a little more than I can afford.

Any thoughts?

Honestly, as a guitar player, I’d look at a nice looper pedal with line inputs and sync it to a keyboard. This is the route I’ve gone for writing on guitar. I got the Headrush Looperboard, but the Aeros was a serious candidate. Most of the new ones have built in drum loops, or you can load your own.

Aeros might be above budget, but Boss makes some really nice ones as well.

if you don’t mind using a laptop, NI Maschine might fit the bill.

And another alternative is a new iPad or a used iPad/Pro with an IK stereo IOS interface. Then you have access to a variety of sampler software.

cool thanks!
good tips.
ive been messing around with the volca samole and volca kicks along with a po-33 and flipsample on ipad...
so far its keeping me busy.
hadnt thought about loopers though... i have a couple and will work them into it... thx!!!
