    Antelope Discrete 4 rant/overview

Mine is working smoothly now but I'm still running my Goliath HD over MADI with my RME. I don't really want to rely on the Antelope drivers. Plus my system is a 2012 Mac Pro tower, so no Thunderbolt or USB 3.

    Coil Audio Preamps

What I found is that by adjusting the impedance settings on the Vipre, I was able to somewhat mimic the affect of negative feedback in or out of the circuit on the Coil CA-70s. I still have a soft spot for the Groove Tubes Vipre. It was the first really good preamp that I purchased when...

    Coil Audio Preamps

That's the negative feedback control. Basically they put it on a pot, instead of either having it fixed, or on a switch. If it's turned all the way counter clockwise, NF is off, and you'll get a brighter, more open sound with more harmonics and a bit more gain. Turned clockwise, negative...

    Coil Audio Preamps

Having had this for a couple of weeks now, I can say that I really like the CA-70s. It's very easy to dial in a great sound with the controls. In comparison to the Groove Tubes Vipre that I have here to compare with, I do find the Vipre just a bit bigger and more up front sounding. Since the...

Keyboard Workstation vs Controller and iPad Pro?

I'm out of the loop on the current offerings in IOS land. However, I'm debating getting another Korg Kronos 2 here, but it would be just for studio. Most of the work I do involves either virtual instruments, or my Access Virus Ti2. The other option would be to pick up an iPad Pro, and IOS apps...

The PROFILER Floorboard is here: Kemper release KEMPER PROFILER Stage

It does look great. I'm happy with my rack unit and floor controller, but this would be tempting if I didn't already have a Kemper!

Recommendations on Keyboard Controller? Nord, Studiologic, Dexibell?

I'm in the market for a nice keyboard/controller. I'm looking for a nice weighted action, good quality. Right now I'm looking at the Studiologic SL88 Grand (controller only), the Nord Grand (expensive but nice), and a Dexibell Vivo S9 (also expensive but nice). The Studiologic is the most cost...

    Coil Audio Preamps

I just ordered one of these preamps. I'm pretty excited to shoot it out against the Groove Tubes Vipre. I'm already saving for a 286, which I'm hoping to shoot out against the Sonic Farm Berliner.

    Antelope Discrete 4 rant/overview

Ah, fun with giphy  In all seriousness though, I can’t even begin to understand what you are talking about... problems with Antelope interfaces, really? Who woulda thunk? o_O

So what you are saying is that Antelope are trying to jump ahead of everybody else, while in reality going in the wrong direction?

Plugin Alliance Ends Pick-Pack Rent-to-Own Model. Existing Customers Absolved of Remaining Payments.

I think if you purchased pick pack the day before they cancelled, you would have got all 10 for free! I just about did that, but changed my mind :weary:

Yeah, none of the discounts they offered me were tempting at all!

So it looks like they’re moving to the subscription model. I hate that. I’d way rather rent to own. There’s enough monthly expenses without adding plugins on top of it. It’s too bad. I thought that the pick pack thing was really cool, except for the 24 months.
